The General Idea of this Assignment:

Write a practice theory on 'Organizing, managing and leading geographically disbursed teams, with multinational team members who work mostly in a virtual context when solving consulting cases (governing virtual teams).

Write your practice theory as if you were to write a manual for yourself, reflecting your current work-in-progress understanding and practice. Consider what are the most important factors and processes to establish to develop an effective team. Consider the following:

(a) Consider how a team solves diverse consulting tasks.

(b) Ponder on the role of relationships among potential team members in GVTs.

(c) Think about the role of establishing processes, including rules, routines, and about setting different roles for members.

(f) DELIVERABLE: Write your personal concise practice manual on how to establish, organize, manage, and lead effective GVT. Expected length (as short as possible, as long as necessary).

Marking criteria:

(1) The proposed practice theory includes the following items in regard to project-based work in global virtual teams:

(3) The proposed practice theory constitutes a work-in-progress perspective with practical value. [15 pts]
