I would utilize a nominal group technique (NGT) for this issue. The identified problem by the sponsoring agency is an issue with timely resource access and coordination for migrant families. The problem lies in the efficiency collaborating with other agencies who share the same goal of providing services to migrant workers and their families. One agency cannot know the barriers or arrive at solutions without collaboration with the other stakeholders. The nominal group technique is a structured, active, collaborative group which brainstorms and identifies the underlying issues which may be causing the overall problem. The NGT model is used in various disciplines, including social services, to aid in program planning and coordination (Toseland & Rivas, 2017). This is an effective way to gather various insights into the problem to develop solutions to enhance programs and services. This is done through worksheets, round robin table discussions, generation of ideas, and collaboration to create an action plan. This is best suited for this agency issue given the inclusion of various agencies who will all see the problem a bit differently. One cannot overcome barriers without understanding them.
