TOPIC Describe, question, debate and evaluate and an area of new technology in relation to human computer interaction design and methods. Interactive designers aim to create interfaces that are faster to learn, more efficient to use, and provide more satisfactory user experiences. New technology offers continuous advancement in these areas. Arguably this progression is most effectively achieved when it is directed by: clear understanding of goals, users, and the research methods that come to us through the study of human computer interaction. Reflect on the varied ways that humans interact with computers in an area of your choice. Consider the progression and potential of interfaces that are designed for users in this area. Produce a short essay and a presentation for the class. Some possible topics of interest are listed below.

Final Grade: Comments: Marking Notes In order to receive full marks for any item a student will have to perform exceptionally in that category with no flaws. Half marks indicate that the student has performed adequately in that category. Due Date and Time Essay: Midnight Thursday 24 March. Essay must be submitted to Turnitin on Moodle. Presentation: Class time 24 March. Submission Upload your document to the Turnitin box for Assignment 1. Extensions Extensions of time will be granted for students who have an acceptable documented reason for not completing the assessment by the specified date. Grading This comparison is worth 40% of the total paper and is marked out of 100. Plagiarism A Turnitin similarity of over 10% is not recommended. Turnitin will be open and available for submission before the assignment is due. You are encouraged to check your assignment to ensure it meets this standard. Assignments You are required to hand in assignments on the date and times specified in the course outline. If an assignment is not handed in by the due date a mark of zero will be recorded.
