Identify a business process, either fictional or in your workplace, that could be improved with a new Information System (IS). Describe your implementation and provide necessary technology, funding, and personnel.

Use the Five-Component Framework to design your IS:

Hardware What devices are necessary for your solution--computer systems, mobile devices, AR/VR technology? What kind of investment in hardware is necessary? How will you keep costs down, secure devices, manage upgrades, and dispose of old devices? Software What kinds of applications will be necessary? Will they be served through the web, an app, or something else? What kinds of interface components will the users need? Will different users have different interfaces? How will you maintain/patch the software? Data Will your solution involve the creation or extension of a database? Will it be relational or NoSQL? Will it be hosted on-premises or on the cloud? Will the amount of data require a Big Data ecosystem such as Hadoop? Use an ER Diagram, if appropriate. Procedures What kind of processes will be in place for coordination or security? How will you make employees known of any policies or procedures? People How will your employees respond to the new system? How will you ensure that they use it correctly? Are new personnel required? Where will you find them? How will you train them? Will it be necessary to form a partnership with a technical organization to build or maintain this IS?
