While conducting her ground check, Lisa noticed her Seminole was a little low on fuel, but the local FBO informed her that their fuel service was out of order that day due to a fuel pump issue.

Lisa did not want to disappoint her friends, let alone the children. So, she calculated the distance to the next airport with fuel service and found that she would have just enough fuel to make it. By the time they departed and enroute a headwind was far stronger than last reported and much higher than what was forecasted. While midway, Lisa was panicking because the fuel gauge was indicating empty with 15 miles to go and she knew they would not be able to land at the airport.
