Seniors are matched with eighth graders to act as mentors for the day. The seniors are required to wear shirts representing the next step in their lives, whether its college, job, or military service to show the eighth graders the various options after high school. This year four seniors show up at school before the field trip wearing tee shirts with the logo "Cannabis University" with a large marijuana leaf. Marijuana is illegal in their state. All four students are headed to a university or community college after high school. The principal asks them to turn their tee shirts inside out before going on the field trip. The students refuse and the principal suspends them for the day and sends them home. The students now argue that their rights have been violated and are threatening to sue.
