This journal discusses how little information we have about specific experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color students during field placements. The vast majority of social workers are made up of Caucasian Women and understanding diversity in social work practice is critical. They conducted a qualitative study with 42 social work students where they explored what factors contribute to meaningful experiences in the field. Their findings consisted of the importance of relationships with field instructors, including BIPOC field instructors, it was also concluded that more robust research regarding racial equity in the social work field.
