We have had an episode of conflict at work where our valued staff team members have laid a complaint that they don't want to be a part of a brainstorming session if Brian was part of the team. Some of the team members have escalated this to me after failing to resolve the matter directly with Brian. Brian would cause an interruption during team troubleshooting or brainstorming meetings. The result of Brian's behaviour would cause the rest of the team to lose interest in participating in any meetings or root cause analysis or troubleshooting. Our troubleshooting and brainstorming meetings are some of the most creative meetings when team members caucus to come up with a practical solution. And these solutions have been a trade secret to keep our company ahead of our competitors. Brian would always seem to aggressively raise his voice against everyone else and seem to arrest team members' thought trends or contributions to the group meeting. His interruptive behaviour would hastily seize any person's opportunity to contribute to the discussion and bring discussions to a halt resulting in the meeting coming to an inconclusive unproductive dead end. He would behave as a "know it all" and come across as a bully. He always seemed to dominate his peers, and nobody else on the team would ever know more than he did. And always also had a very low tolerance for correction. Because of Brian's behaviour, he became disliked, and nobody wanted to work with him. This made him out to be a non-team player.
