If a media company publishes an article that is defamatory and contains screenshots of chat-room posts allegedly made by the subject of article, then those screenshots are re-published onto another message board and more defamatory matter is produced about subject as a result of the initial publication, are the initial publishers liable for this? Are they also liable for the comments made on this message board as the matter which they have based their opinions on was the initial publication by media company?
