If a notary no longer wants to be a notary public or moves out of state, what procedure does the law require?

A$.$ Send a letter of resignation to the Secretary of State and retain possession of his or her notarial seal and journal in a secure place in the event the Secretary of State requests to see those items

B$.$ Resign online, destroy the official stamp, and retain the journal for ten years after the last entry, or send the journal to State Archives, or leave the journal with the notary's employer

C$.$ The notary has no affirmative duty to report the desire to resign his or her notary commission so long as he or she performs no additional notarizations after resignation

D$.$ Return the notary journal and seal to his or her employer if the employer paid for those items
