If I were in a situation where I did not agree with the organization's values or felt that they did not align with my idea of being a servant leader, would not mean I would have to personally change my beliefs or compromise them. For instance, if the company only cares about profits that is the ideal end goal. I, as a leader can ensure that those around me are still supported, I still carry empathy, acceptance, and understanding for them. I can still lead with wanting them to grow and improve themselves, still while meeting the expectations of that organization. Servant leadership can be valuable in many situations and can be used even in situations that may not be the more nurturing environment for a servant leader. How else would you support your employees?
