STOP. Before you answer this question, ACTUALLY READ IT. THIS is NOT (2p)-2, this is 2^(p-2). AN EXPONENT. I am so sick and tired of Chegg "experts" not READING the question.

P.S. The answer is p/2+1, though I don't know why.
