If you select the COMMONLY USED INFLUENCE TACTICS, select any SIX of the nine tactics and scan the news to find good examples of people and situations/scenarios for EACH of the six tactics. You might not be able to find one story that shows all six tactics; you will probably use six different stories.

Your paper will consist of six sections. Each section will be a paragraph about a particular tactic (i.e., the first section might be about Rational Persuasion, the second paragraph might be about Ingratiation, etc). For each story illustrating a particular tactic, you should provide a sentence or two identifying this: who the person is, what organization he or she is a part of, and what the situation is that allows the person to utilize this tactic. You will then have a sentence or two describing whether you feel that the use of that tactic is appropriate or not in this situation, and why or why not. If you feel that the tactic is NOT appropriate, suggest what tactic might have been more appropriate and/or effective in this situation. Make sure in EACH SECTION to identify what the tactic is!
