If you would have asked the CEOs of Blockbuster, Kodak, Circuit City, Borders, or Toys R Us a few years ago, they would probably have answered you that digital transformation, complex adaptive systems, and enterprise agility concepts were fads and there was no need for enterprise architecture. Today, from their retirement and after having bankrupted their companies because they arrived late or didn't arrive at all to the digital age, they may answer differently.

Why did these companies fail? What could have been done differently from an enterprise architecture standpoint?

After reading the textbook and other articles, in your opinion, what is Enterprise Architecture?

After looking up three additional resources, has your opinion of Enterprise Architecture changed? Why or why not? Does Enterprise Architecture require the use of technology? Does the rate of change in technology affect the concept of Enterprise Architecture?
