If you would have asked the CEOs of Blockbuster, Kodak, Circuit City, Borders, or Toys R Us a few years ago, they would probably have answered you that digital transformation, complex adaptive systems, and enterprise agility concepts were fads and there was no need for enterprise architecture. Today, from their retirement and after having bankrupted their companies because they arrived late or didn't arrive at all to the digital age, they may answer differently.
Why did these companies fail? What could have been done differently from an enterprise architecture standpoint?
