US Patriot Act

You should look up the historical background of the law in order to complete the following:

1. You must provide the full name of the law, the name by which it is known, the legal citation, year of approval, language of the text of the law.

2. Indicate who proposed it.

3. Indicate the date on which the bill was proposed.

4. Indicate whether the effectiveness of the law was immediate upon its adoption.

5. State the reason for the proposed legislation.

6. Indicate whether the law is in effect.

7. Indicate whether the law has been amended in the past 5 years or if it has undergone any significant amendments since its passage.

(If the law has been amended, it must indicate when, effective date of the amendment, amended article, any pertinent matter related to the amendment)
