A programmable thermostat synced to my phone will allow me to adjust the thermostat setting if I forget prior to leaving. As an example of the Ameren summer rates, "Anytime user" pays 0.137 per kWh all the time "Evening/Morning saver" pays 0.134 per kWh between 9 pm and 9 am and 0.139 between 9 am and 9 pm "Overnight saver" pays 0.064 per kWh between 10 pm and 6 am and 0.162 between 6 am and 10 pm "Ultimate saver" pays 0.051
