I'm a bit confused with the applications of formulas in mechanical physics. In the written work is my own solution which somehow ended up somewhere near the correct answer (C), but is still wrong.When I went back to check the way my teacher approached it. He used the kinetic energy formula instead of momentum. If a car brakes, is it considered a change in momentum? How would we know which formula(s) to apply in certain problems, or does it not matter?Thank you !
