I'm having difficulty understanding the major events/timeline of the development of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

For example, including some of the dates and events of each of the significant milestones that led up to its' creation, its' creation and establishment in law, and any major amendments that were done.

If you could help me understand and piece together these important dates and their respective events , chronologically, in a easy to understand way, that would be very helpful. This would help me make sense of what I am learning in my course, and connect it all together to help me study.
