I'm having trouble interpretating the results of my study, this is what I got: my research question was: how gender, financial stability and emotional compatibility interact to shape individuals mate preferences? and my hypothesis guiding the study was "females will prioritize partners with financial stability over emotional compatibility when choosing a partner", the variables were:

pv= traits; financial stability and emotional compatibility, and pv= gender; female, male and outcome; mate preferences.

we run an ANOVA 2x2 with mixed factors; the results were: -main effect of trait F(1,78)= .370,p=.545 effect size= .005 with no significance. The main effect for interaction trait*gender F=(1,78)= 11.198, p=.001, effect size .126 with significance, small effect,

and the main effect for gender was F=(1,78)= 1.524, p=.221 and effect size .019 no significance. our sample was with 80 students. I just don't know how to interpret this, for each effect. does it mean the interaction between trait and gender and mate preference differs between males and females? and the main effect of traits; these trais do not have a consistent impact on mate preference across all individuals regardless of gender, and the main effect of gender; that the gender alone does not have a significant impact on mate preferences across all the individuals in the study, meaning that male and female may have similar preference when it comes to selecting partners? and if these results support my hypothesis???? help please
