Imagine that you are working at an external HR consulting firm that provides subject matter experts and advice to a client's organization. This year, your company has a new client, Yelp, one of the largest companies for local search and review. Your roles and responsibilities are to analyze Yelp's New York office and provide the best consulting service to them. As an external consultant, you don't have much knowledge about this company. Therefore, you need to be strategic in terms of gathering enough information to understand the problems that this office faces. Given this background information, you will solve Part A and B.

Your first task is to analyze sales teams in Yelp NY office. While you interview with the sales managers of Yelp NY office, you noticed that the manager has problems handling two different types of sales representatives: Riley and Aiden. The manager wants to know why Riley and Aiden have such problems and wants to apply some interventions to resolve each of their problems. *Riley is known as an "angel" in the sales team. He always helps other coworkers and is responsible for his team's matter. Everyone loves him, and he brightens the office every time he walks through the door. However, his performance record is not so good. He is not unmotivated at work, but every month he cannot meet the target sales record. *Aiden is known as a "Brilliant Jerk" in the sales team. His sales record is always higher than anyone else in this team. However, he isn't a nice employee. He behaves arrogantly (often called as prima donna) and sabotages his coworkers. His toxic behaviors negatively impact other employees and damage the team culture.

1)Start your proposal by stating the major issues of this team. a. This is not a repeat of the background information provided above. Instead, analyze that information to identify what Organizational Behavior concepts (e.g. Performance? CWBs? OCBS?) are occurring in these stories and how they are interacting. i. Tip: There are some trade-offs in each case: Riley is high in OCB, but low in job performance. Aiden is high in performance but also high in CWB. b. Be sure to define any terms you use in a way that would make sense to an average person (e.g. what is a CWB?).
