Imagine you had to teach a lesson on solving rational equations to the class.

Think: How would you explain your process? What steps would you teach the class? How would you organize your steps?

1. Make sure you define any terms the class might not understand.
2. Illustrate your steps with an example.

• Alongside each of your 5 steps provide an example of a rational equation being solved. You will need to make one up. If you cannot make one up, ask me and I will provide you with one.
• The steps you take to solve your example should parallel with your 5-Step Process.

1. Show cause and effect.

• Example: "If I don't do (some step) properly, (some problem) might occur"

1. Understand your audience. Create something that is student friendly. You do not want to bore the class!
2. Cite all sources. If you use something that isn't yours (not including the lesson notes) you need to give credit to the author.
