The capstone of this class is whether you can identify and describe the underlying business issues relating to a community organization engaged in social justice efforts. Here is how you will demonstrate that.

Assume that you are going to have a new community organization engaged in social justice efforts. Those efforts can be aimed at immigration, houselessness, educational, environmental, or criminal justice issues. Then pick one issue from the above list and fully and accurately describe that issue and how you might address.

For example if you choose zoning as the legal issue. Assume the community organization you want to simulate is the building of a tiny house village for houseless Veterans. Further assume that you found a property near Olympia that is in close proximity to social services and VA offices and hospital services. You next need to identify the zoning issues such as, how many units, how many people, wetlands, storm run off and any environmental issues. How will you solve it? We will hire a project manager who can hire contractors to assess the regulations and help us write a proposal to the zoning board of Thurston County and or the City of Olympia.
