(Important Note: Use the data file corresponding to the last digit of your OU ID Number. If the last digit of your OU ID Number is 0, then use the file called "Refill Data for OU ID Ending in 0"; if the last digit of your OU ID Number is 1, then use the file called "Refill Data for OU ID Ending in 1"; etc.) You have just joined EXL Corp as an employee in their Logistics department. Your manager has asked for your help in analyzing data. The manager has a meeting with the VP's and COO who are visiting from the Corporate HQ and has been told that they need some analysis on performance relating to the "pack and load" area. HQ is concerned about the efficiency of this area and the employee complaints about unfair bonus practices. The situation is described below. EXL Corp has a warehouse just outside of Norman. The warehouse has two sections: (1) A large warehouse where products are stored in bulk. (2) A smaller pack and load area where a limited quantity of the product is stored in bins to facilitate the picking, packing, loading, and shipping, of the products. The pack and load area is filled with bins. The bin capacities are 300, 500, 600, and 1000 units. The annual estimated cost of the bins are as follows: Bin Capacity 300 Annual Cost $1000 $4000 $10000 TT 500 600 1000 $20000 The annual cost indicates the cost of the bin and other costs (such as space, insurance, maintenance, etc.). The standard size bin has a capacity of 300 or 500 units. The larger bins have higher costs because these bins that must be special ordered, require additional maintenance, and require additional equipment to make sure that the products are accessible. The company operates three shifts. The first two shifts (morning through late evening) are dedicated to picking, packing, loading, and shipping. The third shift is devoted primarily to restocking the bins in the pack and load area from the bulk storage warehouse area. When a bin is empty, the third shift workers fill the bin from the bulk storage area. The quantity of the refill cannot exceed the size of the bin. For safety reasons, employees are under strict instruction that they must not leave items outside the bins. The company estimates that the cost of refilling a bin is approximately $100 regardless of the size of the bin. The company also informs you that it is not possible to restock the bins during the first two shifts.
