In 1968, Jane Elliot conducted an experiment in an low classroom to give Caucasian students an understanding of prejudice and racism. Students with blue eyes and students with brown eyes were separated, and the teacher told the class that students with blue eyes were smarter, faster, and had better mental capabilities than brown - eved students. After a week of imposing this expectation on students, Elliot gave students an exam to see how they would perform knowing these prejudices. In a replication study conducted in 2019, the mean exam score of blue - eyed students was known to be M = 80. The following table shows scores for 15 brown - eyed students who participated in the experiment. Enter the data into SPSS and use the dataset to test the question: does prejudice undermine the performance of a stigmatized group? Conduct the appropriate statistical test in SPSS. Go to Analyze/ Compare Means/ OneSample t - test. In the box labeled "Test Value", enter 80 instead of 0 .

From the output, report the test statistic and the probability ( obtained p - value, called "sig" in the output) Remember to include degrees of freedom when you report t values!

Make a statistical decision about

the null. Will you reject or fail to reject based on the SPSS output.

What do your results mean in words of a layman would
