In 2015, I carried out a research study about women in small-scale mining in Benguet, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). This study aims to determine if women labor (measured in terms of number of hours worked in mining) and their wages exhibit an inverse relationship, thereby exhibiting the backward bending labor supply curve. As a way to describe the characteristics of women respondents, a primary data was collected on age, civil status (1=married, 2=single, 3=others), education (in years), main occupation (where 1 = small-scale mining; 0 = otherwise (such as agriculture, household work (e.g., doing cleaning, laundry for other households), small business), years residing in the area, family size, and income/month. There are 212 women respondents included in the survey
