In 2017 Michelle was texting her boyfriend Roy, who had been suffering from depression. On several occasions Roy mentioned that he wanted to kill himself. On July 12, 2014 Roy drove to a secluded parking lot. He kept his truck running and placed a garden hose from the tailpipe into a partially open window and then stepped into the truck.
