In 2018, New Tucsonistan, a country in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, established a new law that allowed for duty free access for all dog food not containing GMOs (genetically modified organisms). In order to qualify for duty free access, the dog food would have to come from a country that has a mechanism to certify whether or not the dog food does indeed not contain GMOs. New Tucsonistan has close relations with Freedonia and implemented a regulation stating that all dog food from Freedonia will be considered to be GMO-free even if Freedonian officials did not take the effort to individually certify each product.
