In 2018, the River City, Nebraska School Board adopted a policy that prohibits discrimination against AND requires accommodations fortransgenderedstudentsattending public school in that city. This policy allows the student to use the locker facilities, restrooms, and the name and pronoun with which they identify while on school property for any school-related functions. Donald and Hillary Rich, parents of two birth gender identifying children who attend public school in River City, have filed suit in Federal District Court seeking to enjoin the school district from implementing these policies.
