In a 2-3-page essay, provide an analysis on the foundation and structure of the U.S. political system as you understand it.  This analysis should examine the consistencies and contradictions about the foundation and structure of the United States political economy as compared to the assumed function and behavior of U.S. political economy as has been historically communicated to the public. Your paper should seek to make a clear point, supported by a host of facts and research. It is not necessary for you to have an analysis that I or other students agree with. It is necessary for your analysis to be well supported by existing scholarship and/or empirical data. The goal of this assignment is to establish a baseline for often used but rarely defined concepts such as freedom, justice, equality, democracy, liberalism, conservatism, individualism, collectivism, etc.
