In a study conducted by the Pew Research Center in the year 2020, a random sample of adult Americans was asked the following question: "Some medical research studies are called clinical trials in which volunteers participate in a study to help test the safety and effectiveness of new treatments, drugs or devices. How important do you think it is to go through the process of conducting clinical trials, even if it will lengthen the time it takes to develop new treatments?" At the time, the center concluded that 64% of all adult Americans would answer that it is "very important." In 2022, they asked a different random sample of 10,588 adult Americans the same question. This time, 6884 of the respondents answered that it was "very important". (That's about 65%.) In this problem we will examine whether this 2022 study provides strong evidence that the percentage of adults Americans who would say that it was "very important" is different now from what it was in 2020. We will use a significance level of =0.01.
