In Australia, recycling is essential to address UN SDG Goal 12: Ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. Exchange for Change coordinates with ACT's Return and Earn container deposit scheme, making recycling easy for consumers, beverage suppliers, and the waste industry. A random sample of the same households' data on per person tonnes of recycling from ACT for the 2020/2021 and 202112022 financial years is stored in an Excel file ReturnAndEarn 2 years.xlsx. Download the Excel file and use Excel to undertake an appropriate hypothesis test to address the research question: Research Question: "Is the average tonnes recycled per person by ACT residents differ between the 202012021 and 20211202 financial years?" (2 mark) The most appropriate test for these data is: : 2. (1 mark) Which graphical display(s) would be the best to check the normality assumption for this hypothesis? A v A. Figure 1 B. Figure 2 C. Figure 3 D. Figure 1 & 2 E. Figure 1 81 4 F. Figure 2 & 4 G. Figure 3 81 4 H. The hypothesis test does not have the assumption of normality |. All four figures are needed 3. (1 mark) How can you check the assumption of equal variances? A. Comparative boxplots could be used B. Descriptive statistics such as variance, standard deviation and range could be used C. Descriptive statistics such as mean and median could be used D. Both A & B could be used E. Both A & C could be used F. The hypothesis test does not have the assumption of equal variances For the remaining questions you may assume that any relevant assumptions have been met. 4. (2 marks) The absolute value of the test statistic is equal to (3dp) 5. (1 mark) The degrees of freedom is (Integer) 6. (1 mark) The pvalue is larger or equal to 0.05 = 7. (2 marks) The test shows that the average tonnes recycled per person was ? 0 A. significantly different (could be greater in 2020/2021 than 2021/2022 financial year). B. significantly different (could be lower in 2020/2021 than 2021/2022 financial year.) C. not significantly different between the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 financial years.
