In chapter 11 of seven of Supply Chain Logistics Management By Donald Bowersox, David Closs, and M. Bixby Cooper explains that the considerations to operating a global environment is the challenges that comes with each region. One example that they used was that "North America challenge is one of an open geography with extensive and flexible transportation options and limited need for cross-border documentation"(Bowersox, Closs, Cooper & Bowersox pg. 260). The chapter touched on many other regions an their challenges that they have to consider for those specific regions. Theses different characteristics require that firms having global operations develop and maintain a wide variety of capabilities and expertise. The chapter explains that regionalization is the most successful when operating a global corporation
