In chapter 3, Anderson explains "The goal of data visualization is to communicate key information about the data as effectively and clearly as possible," (et, al, 2021). So, if giving a management presentation involving a continuous data set, it would be important to include and review measures of central tendency, dispersion, and quartiles as they all aid in giving a complete picture of the data analyzed in order to have an understanding that can lead to insights to better help the company. Central tendencies like mean, median, and mode will help place a center point of the data, while dispersion (variation, standard deviation, etc.) will help viewers understand whether the results of the data are tightly grouped or vary widely. Identifying the quartiles, whether through a boxplot or a bell curve, provide a useful visual for stakeholders to understand at a quick glance the display of the data they are concerned with.
