In each of the following you are asked to find the net displacement. Your task is to identity the most appropriate method of solution from the following and why it is appropriate: a) Scale diagram (using a ruler and a protractor) b) Pythagorean Theorem (simply applied to the vectors given) c) Use of a number line (assign positive and negative values and just add them) d) Component method (break each vector down to its x and y components and then find the total x and y sums. These sums can then be reconfigured into a right triangle to solve with Pythagorean Theorem e) Cosine or sine law (this is a more difficult mathematical solution required for non-right triangles). You may select up to two solutions for each question. 1. A fly on a wall crawls up 10 cm and then back down 8 cm. 2. A plane travels 300 km [South] and then 200 km (South 310 East] 3. A pool ball on a table travels 1.2 m [North], then 0.85 [East], then 1.3 m [South], and then 0.95 m [West]. 4. A runner on a track runs 100 m [forward] and then 50 m [backward] 5. A student in a classroom walks 3 m [forward] and then turns right and walks 4 m in that direction. 6. A whale on a migration route swims 1 250 km [North 30 West] and then heads due North for 890 km
