in every state, nurses are campaigning to be allowed to practice "to the full scope of practice", in other words to provide medical care sometimes independent of physician oversight (which physician professional societies oppose). At the same time, nursing (and the nurse's union) is opposing the expanded use of lower skilled LPNs and technicians in clinical settings.
