In Florida, teachers are required to meet the ESOL standards—see selected ones below. In order to develop these skills, preservice teachers take 5 courses related to ESOL. Clearly, there are some areas for you to improve these competencies. Please select TWO and brainstorm about how you can improve your skills in the selected area. Propose two reasonable actions/activities for each selected standard (total of 4 professional development activities) which you can do to improve your skills. Give a short explanation why it is reasonable and meaningful for you. Professional development activities could be (1) reading specific artless—author, title, (2) attending specific events—specific ideas, (3) volunteering teaching adult ELS—specific location.
