In January 2019 Harvey and Maddie decide to purchase a cottage with a parcel of land inthe smallvillage of Wessex.Title to the property is duly registered to Harvey and the couple move in with their young son, Alfie.Wessex itself is a rural community with a mixture of residential homes, farms, and small shops.In March 2019, Harvey decides that he wants to start breeding a rare type of Welsh corgi dog for his Grandmother.

This breed is known for its distinctivecolouring, but is also more anxious than other corgi dog breeds.At around the same time, Jack purchases a nearby derelict farm, with the ambition of starting a hunting retreat.Since purchasing the property, Jack has decided to undertake a series of renovation projects, with the aim of getting the retreat up and running for the end of April.He has also acquired planning permission to rezone the farm for business use and for the use of registered firearms during the hours of 9:00am to 6:00pm, from Monday toSaturday.

Duringthe months of March and April, Jack hires the use of tractors and heavy machinery to start the renovations. He only uses the machinery from 9:00am - 1:00pm Monday to Friday, however, Maddie and Alfie begin to suffer from severe headaches caused by the noise. It is also confirmed by Harvey's veterinarian that the loud noise has caused his corgi, Annabelle, to miscarry her litter of puppies.

In May, Jack's business is fullyoperational,and he is fully booked with hunting parties. On some weekends in May, Jack leads hunting parties starting at 6:00am. The early morning shooting routinely wakes up Maddie and Harvey and as the weather turns warmer Jack leads weekend parties, when Maddie and Harvey are awoken by firing starting at first light. In response, Harvey starts firing his shotgun off along the property's boundary line every evening at 11:00.
