In my farmative Assessment $1$ & $2($FA$1$ & FA$2)$ which the topic was Understanding the impact of Covid $19$ Lockdown measues on metal health : A South African perspective i was required to draft my research

proposal in which you identified one current social problem, which you believe is of key

importance and needs to be investigated.

Required:

$$ For this assessment, you need to collect the data$/$information you have proposed

in Formative Assessment $1($FA$1)$ and Formative Assessment $2($FA$2).$

$$ You need to utilize the methods you have proposed to collect your data, and report

on your research findings.

$$ Then, highlight the similarities and differences between the literature you have

consulted $($in your FA$2$ for the literature review$)$ and your own research findings.

$$ You further need to give meaning to your research findings by providing

explanations for these findings.

$$ This is done by consulting the literature you have engaged within your FA$2,$ where

possible explanations for research findings have been provided by these sources.

NB: It is important to note that a research proposal $($FA$1$ & FA$2)$ outlines what you intend

to study. Whereas the research project $($SA$1)$ focuses on the research you conducted

and the write$-$up thereof.

Instructions:

Your project must be a maximum of $15$ pages, i$.$e$.5000$ words and should include the

following:

$1.$ Title$/$topic

o This should capture the essence of your research.

$2.$ Introduction $/$ Background

o This should capture your introduction $/$ background, research question$($s$),$

and aim and objectives of your research study, and the motivation as to why

your research is necessary.

$3.$ Literature review

o This should capture the literature you have captured in your proposal $($FA$2).$

o You are required to relate the literature to your research findings $$ this will

include new sources that are applicable to your findings.

o Include how the key concepts identified are relevant to your research topic.

o Your literature review must also include the gaps found in the previous

studies related to your research proposal.

o Note: This is not a duplication $($copy and paste$)$ from your FA$2.$ You are

required to address the feedback you have received from the grader.

$4.$ Methodology

o This should capture your research methodology $/$design used to conduct

research.

o The sampling strategy needs to be included.

o The unit of analysis needs to be clearly stated.

o Data collection method$($s$)$ need to be clearly stated.

o The data analytic technique you have utilized needs to be clearly stated.

$5.$ Research findings and Discussion

o Showcase your ability to write up your findings. This should include:

$$ Approach taken when analysing the data $($data analysis$).$ In other

words, you need to analyse your data in with the data analytic

technique you proposed in your FA$2.$

$$ Reporting on your findings.

$$ An interpretation of your findings. In other words, assign meaning or

possible explanations to your research findings.

$$ Discussion of the significance of the findings for knowledge on

research topic.

$$ Relate your findings to your literature review $($point $3)$

$6.$ Conclusion

o The conclusion should summarise and highlight the research findings and

the importance thereof.

o Furthermore, you are required to indicate the challenges you encountered

throughout the research process $$ for example, challenges related to

finding participants, gaining access to certain communities, etc.

o You further need to state the limitations of your own research project $$ for

example, the questions your research were not able to answer, or the

communities you were not able to reach and therefore limited your insight

on the social problem you have identified.

$7.$ Reference list

o Do include a reference list according to the Boston City Campus Harvard

method of referencing available on Colcampus. This does not form part of

the maximum $15$ pages$).$

o All the sources you have used throughout your proposal need to be added

to your reference list.

Guidelines:

$$ Your assignment must be a research project. This is not an essay or a duplicated

proposal.

$$ Ensure that all sections and$/$or sub$-$sections are supported by credible academic

sources.

$$ The project should be a maximum of fifteen $(15)$ pages long excluding the

reference list.

o Do not exceed the maximum page count. If you do$,$ it is at the discretion

of the examiner and$/$or grader should they wish to grade the rest of the

assessment or not.

$$ Use concrete, clear, succinct, and appropriate academic language.

$$ Pay careful attention to the grading rubric to ensure that your project is as

comprehensive as possible.
