In my paper, I chose to research the negative economic impacts that the Olympics has on hosts and how these negative impacts can be reduced. I was happy how I informed the reader about the role of the International Olympics Committee in structuring the Olympics and how the Olympics always goes over the estimated budget each games. The reasoning behind this research is to bring awareness to the over spending of the Olympics and pointing out how this could possibly be resolved. This is identified by identifying that all but one Olympics in the last 50 years have went over budget and one of the ways the Olympics can overcome the overspending is by establishing one or two permanent hosts (Khraiche et al., 2021; Baade et al., 2016). People should read my work to understand more about the Olympics being extremely expensive for hosts and a call to action before the Olympics causes permit economic damage to a country. Philippians 2:4 expresses put the interests of others before your own and this can be applied in this instance by saying countries should put the economic interests of the country above their own (English Standard version, 2001, 2024).
