In my professional life I have responsibility for facilities that include a large number commercial drivers. These drivers distribute $($deliver$)$ products that involve entering customer sites and typically backing into dock areas. In terms of annual accidents and damage to property, our most common incident involves backing accidents. Backing accounts for nearly $2/3$ of all our claims.

In order to address this issue we have implemented a strict and enforced policy that all drivers MUST perform GOAL $($Get Out And Look$)$ before backing. In spite of this policy, we continue to have nearly the same number of incidents annually.
