In one of my learning outcomes for a new class, the professor says "Know that in simple linear regression, if the data are standardized, r = slope of the regression line for the standardized data and the regression line runs right through the origin" In this case, what does standardized mean? Why does the regression line for standardized data and the regression line run through the origin?
