In one of this week's required readings "How race becomes biology: Embodiment of social inequality", anthropologist Clarence Gravlee makes the point that while our concepts of race don't have a biological basis, it doesn't mean that race is a "myth". As Clarence Gravlee writes, "To say that race is a cultural construct is not to say it does not exist; cultural constructs have an objective reality despite their reliance on human thought" (2009, p. 53).

1. Using at least one specific example from Gravlee's article and one from your textbook, share your understanding of how race comes to feel so "real" to many people as a biological concept.
2. Find at least one recent news story (has to have occurred within the past two years) that relates to the points made by Gravlee about race becoming biology. Be specific about how your example directly relates to Gravlee's arguments. Be sure to include a working link to the story in your post.
