The more detailed and specific you are about what is happening now and why, the better positioned you will be to develop an effective change plan to address that behavior. You should also be able to articulate a compelling reason for the change. A clear and meaningful purpose for change is crucial to developing and sustaining motivation in challenging change situations. You will also need to develop a specific plan for how you will change your behavior: what specific actions will you take, when and where, to enter the "Fundamental State of Leadership?" Finally, all significant changes face obstacles; therefore, you should carefully analyze as many potential barriers to your change project as you can identify.
