What is Esther's Law- Esther's law is also known as Senate Bill 58 (SB58)

Introduced by Steve Piskor (Resident's son) whom worked with law makers to pass the bill. Steve Piskor is also the Founder of Elderly Nursing Home Abuse Advocates that was established in 2011. He provided testimony on behalf of the bill. There were over 50 additional testimonies including residents, family members and additional family members of Esther Piskor.

  • Why did the person introduce it?

Law was proposed due to a resident (Esther Piskor) being abused back in 2009, and family member installed camera to record abuse. The recording assisted to the aides' arrest and criminal conviction. This situation took place in Cleveland, Ohio.
