In order to practice quote integration and persuasive writing:

• properly integrate one quotation from a source into your writing; demonstrate usage of signal phrases; demonstrate usage of in-text citations
• demonstrate persuasive strategies by writing a persuasive paragraph taking a stance on a particular issue

In order to practice the steps of the writing process, you will:

• brainstorm ideas before writing
• revise your work giving consideration to audience and persuasive strategies
• utilize effective proofreading strategies to check your own work
• Read "Multitasking or Mass ADD?
• Brainstorm a list of things you do at the same time as you are doing homework or writing.
• Write a persuasive paragraph taking ONE of the following stances:
  • Convince students to not multitask on phones while doing homework or in class
  • Convince instructors that students are able to multitask on phones and should be allowed to use them in class.
• Whichever stance you choose, you will need to integrate ONE quote from the "Multitasking or Mass ADD?" essay. You can use your own experiences.
• Reread with a critical audience in mind. Does your paragraph take a clear and convincing position? See Chapter 13 or the Chapter 13: Persuasiondocument for persuasion strategies.
• Edit for fragments and run-ons by reading from last sentence to first sentence.
• Submit your paragraph to the Module 4 Project Assignment Dropbox.
