In Part 1 of your paper, which should be one to two pages, describe the agreement or policy that you selected. What is it used for? How long is it? A convenient way to get a word count is to copy the text and paste it into a new Microsoft Word document. The word count will be listed on the bottom-left border of Word, next to the page count. How long did it take to read the policy (this relates to the issue of whether users read these policies or not)? Address the following in Part 1: Does it include all of the sections that are commonly found in such documents, or does it leave something out? Explain. What is the user agreeing to? How does the user indicate their agreement (e.g., do they use a checkbox or a click)? (Is a signature required?)?

Examine the text of the agreement, quoting short passages and explaining them in detail. What do these passages mean? What concerns might they raise, address, or alleviate? Part 2 of your paper should be 2-3 pages in length, not counting quotations.

In Part 3 of your paper (1.5-3 pages), state your general conclusions about this agreement or policy, addressing the following points:

• Is this an effective agreement? Explain.
• What are its strengths and weaknesses?
• What are the ethical, cultural, or political concerns?
• What other concerns might a user have?

You may be able to find an online analysis of the agreement or policy that you have selected. You may cite and reference this analysis in your paper and use it to support your own conclusions, but your paper must be your original work.
