In Project 2, I want you to learn more about the newest topics in SCM the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and Blockchain (BC). I want you to leave this class knowing about IIOT and BC and have some idea of how they impact SC Performance. In previous assignments, you were introduced to IIOT and BC as you reviewed Zelbst et al. (2019). Now, assess the combined impact of IIOT and BC in a more comprehensive SC Information Sharing Model. Remember that successful supply chain management depends on the ability to synchronously share real-time data and information among supply chain partners. The data must be captured, stored, and summarized and analyzed to create information. That information is used throughout the supply chain to adjust processes to ensure satisfaction of the ultimate customers of the supply chain. In Project 2, you will see how IIOT, BC, and ERP combine to form an information system that supports supply chain transparency and traceability which in turn enhance supply chain performance. SC Information Sharing Model
1. Define/describe each of the following variables. Zelbst et al. (2019) and the two documents that I provide will help especially with the definitions/descriptions of Industrial Internet of Things and Blockchain. For the other variables, look at the items in the measurement scales and do a search for each variable in the librarys Business Source Complete database and/or do a general Internet search. Be sure to cite and reference your sources. a. Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). b. Blockchain (BC). c. Enterprise Resource Planning Information System (ERP) d. Supply Chain Transparency (SCTran). e. Supply Chain Traceability (SCTrac). f. Supply Chain Performance (SCP).
2. Complete the necessary regressions and insert the betas and significance level and R2 values in the structural model. The necessary regressions include:
Regression Dependent Variable Independent Variable(s) 1 SCP SCTran, SCTrac 2 SCTrac SCTran, ERP, BC 3 SCTran IIOT, ERP 4 ERP IIOT, BC 5 BC IIOT
3. Answer the following questions related to the structural model. a. What % of the variation in SCP is explained by SCTran and SCTrac? b. What % of the variation in SCTran is explained by IIOT and ERP? c. What % of the variation in SCTrac is explained by SCTran, ERP, and BC? d. What % of the variation in ERP is explained by IIOT and BC? e. What % of the variation in BC is explained by IIOT? f. Does SCTran directly impact SCP? g. Does SCTrac directly impact SCP? h. Does SCTran indirectly impact SCP through SCTrac? i. Does SCTran directly impact SCTrac? j. Does ERP/IS directly impact SCTrac? k. Does BC directly impact SCTrac? l. Does ERP/IS indirectly impact SCTrac through SCTran? m. Does BC indirectly impact SCTrac through ERP? n. Does IIOT directly impact ERP? o. Does BC directly impact ERP? p. Does IIOT directly impact BC? q. Does IIOT indirectly impact ERP through BC? r. Does IIOT indirectly impact SCP through SCTran? s. Does BC indirectly impact SCP through SCTrac?
4. Does the model reflect reality in the U.S. manufacturing sector? Explain your answer with support.
5. Do SC Transparency and SC Traceability combine to positively impact Supply Chain Performance? What is it about SC Transparency and SC Traceability that improves Supply Chain Performance?
6. Do IIOT and ERP combine to positively impact SC Transparency? What is it about IIOT and ERP that improves SC Transparency?
7. Do BC, ERP, and SC Transparency combine to positively impact SC Traceability? What is it about BC, ERP, and SC Transparency that improves SC Traceability?
8. Do IIOT and BC combine to improve ERP? What is it about IIOT and BC that improves ERP?
9. Does IIOT improve BC? What is it about IIOT that improves BC?
10. Summarize the model and explain what specifically manufacturing/supply chain managers should do to improve Supply Chain Performance.
11. I want you to look at the big picture. Look back at the Comprehensive SCM Model from Exam I and refresh yourself in terms of how all of the management improvement programs combine to improve organizational performance. Remember that the lynchpin in the Exam I model is SCM. Also, remember that the key to successful SCM is the ability to synchronously share real-time data and information among SC partners. Now, explain how the Project II model fits within the Project I model. Give me a nice full paragraph here. I want to be sure that you see the connection between the two models. This response needs to be on an MBA level.
