in recent months, Premier Doug Ford of Ontario has announced two policies designed to benefit car owners: first, the cancellation of fees for renewing vehicle licenses (including a refund of licence fees paid since March 2020), and second, a six-month reduction in gasoline taxes of 5.7 cents per litre, beginning July 1, 2022. The justification for both policies is to reduce the cost of living for consumers.
