While the assistant coach played the role of "good guy" to offset the coach's brusque and aggressive behavior. I am not convinced it was as positive as it could be. The results were achieved, but I think the players may have had some anxiety over the ever-present idea they could lose their place on the team. What are your thoughts on this? Is this the best method? Could the coach have been more supportive through the team-building process? Somehow I feel the act of writing a letter later to the team members is somewhat like the pattern of an abusive person apologizing after the assault.
