In October, due to a labor dispute, there is a shortage of sugar, and Fred's informs Gilda that it will only be able to sell her 500 pounds of sugar at the price agreed. Gilda calls other suppliers and is able to buy 250 pounds of sugar from Henry's House of Food for $2.00 per pound. Since she cannot locate sufficient sugar, Gilda has to cancel some of her catering projects, and her customers tell her that they will not order from her again.
